Earth Hour: World Record: Philippines

What a great news! For an environment-saving cause, we got the world record for participating the most in switching off our lights in response to the call for an hour of energy saving.

Well, if we at home had to do it, maybe it was big deal, maybe it was indeed on to set a record! As for me, I just thought it's an event that I wouldn't miss or like a birthday that I had to text my friends about to remind them that it's time to turn their lights off with a smiley in the end. Only to get a response from one of them that they already had their lights off and that my watch is like 50 seconds late!!! ^0^

And so it was an event that we had known from friends of friends, from concerts held using solar panels for energy, shirts printed and worn around by anyone, billboards everywhere, TV ads ... even church bells were rang! So, the intention was there, and ... though I noticed from the next door that they had switched off their lights early thus turning it on early too ... that I being soooo observant and excited about this whole lights-off thing whispered to my husband that they were Earth Hour-ing at the wrong hour! tsk.tsk. hehe (i was just making him laugh...)

Anyway, this is a moment of unexpected pride! We hope that more and more people will consider it as an event like New Years or something ... an hour wouldn't hurt anyway if given for the environment.
