Bedroom Beginnings

Bedroom Project (we want one too!), by Jen Soliman

The mid-year month is officially over and so does the Santa Cruzan and the Flores de Mayo Festivals. So sad that I wasn't able to participate! (haha) well, I'm no longer asked to, ' cuz usually it's for the single ladies and for the ... ehermm ... prettiest lass in town. Which I'm no longer entitled to ...ey! just on the SINGLE ladies part otherwise we can still rock those! haha

Anyway, I haven't gone for work today, I have an appointment with my OB this afternoon, (nope not preggy yet, just a routine check-up) and if you wondered where I was yesterday that I haven't posted anything, we had workmen over our apartment for window works. I don't know why we needed NEW windows, it's not broken, it's fairly new since our building is just 5 years old but the owner wanted it changed ... so ... they did. There was hammering, drilling and welding everywhere that I wasn't going around much but stayed in one corner and watched TV... Then it rained, hard. Super hard, that the thunder would vibrate on our walls. That's weird, we haven't got that since the windows had been changed. We have huge windows now, with lots of light coming in the bedroom. aarrgghh... that is one huge problem we have in this room, that sunlight would flood the room in the morning, hurting our eyes. Trouble is, we can't put up heavy and dark window treatment since our room is not yet airconditioned, it gets pretty hot in this country! ... (planning to, don't worry... we know were the only ones who haven't got one ...well, we hardly had anything, we just got married!!!) So right now as I am writing this... I could really use a wide rim shades, that's how bad it is! Because you know how it is after the rain, it suddenly becomes bright. hhmmnn... we'll do something about it soon!... and I've been looking around for what to do with it.

I'd like to take inspiration from an interior designer, whose works I like, Jennifer Soliman because she uses rich and fab colors, I want my house-to-be like a house, I used to love all those minimalist designs but now as we wanted to raise a family someday, you know you can't have those really cool stainless steel objects lying around or the pointy edges of a minimalist though yeah, I'm sure a good interior designer could make a minimalist design work for a family, but now for me, I'm just into bold colors, warmth and cozy things.

As for now, I'm keeping a mental list of the things and colors that may inspire me to do our bedroom, 'cuz if you could see it now, it's just a plain, very light blue room, with 2 huge white iron framed windows, closet and a bed. That's it. No lamps, no bedside tables, no dressers ... just bed and the light blue room!

Let's see where this "tiny" bedroom design project of mine goes and ... YOU can check this out, it's really cool ... here's how to determine your style by IKEA. try it! try it!

i can do it altogether.

It's really late and my husband is already dreaming ... I could tell ... *little snores* ... Anyway, I've been up doing what I did on my previous post ... finding stuff to put together like an inspiration board for an outfit? Well, I feel sooo different doing that, because I've always wanted to be someone that writes from the heart and writes her heart out loud! I just felt like cheating whenever I put those "blog fillers" up instead of writing a lengthy, narration of thoughts and wisdom learned for the day!

STILL, they are no nothings. I've spent hours and hours doing research and layouting. Boy! do I really intend on doing this? haha ... well, yes it's fun and I will be diverting my issues here and there and will be covering as many areas as I can with my idle weekend hands but busy "feels-like-being-creative" brain! Those "blog fillers" as I call them, will stay. I even think it keeps my blog busy b'cuz after I posted my "filler"... I still tend to write. oh wow. So I'm now pacing at 2 blogs a day! ... hmmnn... well, you know when inspiration hits you, it bursts! But when there is NOTHING out there that's worth a mention ... you sit for minutes and your fingers aren't typing away easily, that you hit backspace more than any other key! That's when my "blog-fillers" come in. I want to do feature stories of sorts, not limited to clothes and "make-up" ... what am I talking about? ... if my boss reads this, I'll be receiving odd looks like ... really? 5 years in Architecture plus 2 years apprenticehip and 4 years in cladding design for skyscraper and landmark buildings, for doing make-up? ...

...yeah ...

But I could do both! I could write my heart out and still do the fillers, I could do skyscraper and do make-up ... I could do separate things together without a problem. I could even read two novel books at the same time... one I keep in the "mini" library I had set up in the comfort room, which is very convenient 'bcuz I'm a reader while (you know, doing it) So, as often as I go to the CR I read pages and pages. Now, I'm in chapter 14 and is looking forward to doing my thing ... So I could read. see? it has health benefits!

Anyway, women ... we are masters of multi-tasking! We can be anything at anytime and manage.

Time out!

click photo to enlarge

This is my first try on diverting my interest from the science of Architecture with all its restricted dimensions and true to life scale into a more spontaneous form of art... Taadaa! Fashion. oooh! What do I know about it? Well, I dress up everyday, I don't go around naked (wrinkling my forehead)... OR not even trying to mix and match the stuff that I got in my closet everytime I go out. So I guess that makes me a person who knows what fashion is ... wait... I sound like any other girl. NORMAL. Not like a high fashion somebody who could talk clothes and accessories like it's a limb or something that's been born with them. I'm just me and the clothes that any woman or girl could wear. Mere suggestions of what and where to find them... and! just because I enjoy picking out the clothes and colors to pull an outfit together is enough for me. I'm not really changing my world, I'm just opening new doors.

Reruns of the Overkill

Yes I support all women who were abused and are fighting bravely for justice and YES I cited what the law has provided for the protection of women and children against abusive acts (in my older post) BUT no, I wont tolerate DRAMA scripts and trial by publicity! Enough okay?! The senate must stop their probe on this case and get back to working on more important things than making the video scandals even more popular because of the full coverage they're giving it. It could be settled in a courtroom where things could be kept private after all we're talking about "sensitive" issues here that doesn't need that much hype and should not be put on the mainstream for the sake of our young viewers and readers.

Besides, can you imagine what the other victims of a similar case feels? How come they don't get that much attention? And that the person involved in committing such offense doesn't get the same punishment and humiliation as Hayden Kho is already enduring?! (see? I'm naming names 'cuz I'm pissed!) It seems that justice had already been served to this guy who receives verbal battery everyday and has already been regarded as a "Persona non grata" in two very popular provinces here in the Philippines, in Bohol and Palawan, 'meaning he will get a "psychological" torture in these places and will be refused entry or not to receive any service. jeez! that is harsh. OK, harsh if harsh it is because he deserves it. But what I'm talking about is the amount of exposure that they get from these scandalous affairs they had. That we, as the hard-working, honest tax paying citizens doesn't want our senators be busy in researching and investigating these things! Hello?! Why not let the court decide on this? Miss Katrina Halili has already filed her case against the doctor Hayden Kho, isn't that supposed to be enough? Why meddle? Tell me why? why? why?

After the news of these videos broke out, I fairly understood that the issue would run for about a week! But now, it's been running headlines everyday for like a month now?!!! yuck. How this system goes. The whole thing is becoming a TV-series complete with plot and twists.

*sigh*
...Well, I am a woman too but I never make that an excuse to be fragile and be always the one in distress. If you look on the other side... you'll get a lesson. Behind this mayhem, yes there ARE lessons! Even an ordinary person without a degree in psychology could say that these things could happen to very normal people and could draw conclusions... NEVER SLEEP AROUND especially when you know that the guy is involved with another person! It's double jeopardy for the girl, that she got caught unaware of the camera while being dishonest. While the guy has NO intentions of publicizing the whole thing is also caught in double jeopardy, filming without the consent of the partner and being dishonest... so? who really should get punished? Maybe the one who reproduced and uploaded the videos, right? But still the guy has to answer to the law ... but pleeaasseee, girl! stop wallowing on your " I am a victim mode" because God knows you chose to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. So, sorry that it had happen to you and the lesson was learned the hard way!

of weddings and Azerbaijan, the country I'd like to know about

So I'm out conquering the world with the projects that I get involved with and able to land a part in a building that's going to be constructed in Azerbaijan. OK, let me repeat that: "Azerbaijan" ... cool, now where is it? Sorry that I had to Google, I'm really not that keen on geography but I know this place must exist and it must've been needing buildings ... so far so good in that aspect! As long as there's land and people who needs space for living, we're there! It just sounds so mystical, the place. That I imagine it to be with white castles and forts and mosques, somewhat like Turkey. Hmmnn... I need to do more research! I'd like to know more so I could share it with my team mates. So hang on Azerbaijan, I'd get to you fast!

Anyway, life is sweet and beautiful lately. I don't ever want it to change, always wanting it to be plain, simple and happy. Tomorrow is pay day, so I'd be happier! haha ... I needed a new dress for a friends wedding coming up in October. True Love! They will be married twice. They already had a civil wedding, but now they want to do the church, so ok! we'll do the church with you! haha ... Oh Lynne, don't stress yourself too much or It'll show!Oh well, that's what your new mineral concealer is for! ... So happy and excited to see your dream wedding!

Let's take a peek shall we? just click on this. Lynne and Dale at weddingannouncer.com. It's a free website where couples could share their wedding preps, love story, photos, announcements and more! The forum is very friendly and gives out many suggestions, I'm glad to have found it while I was planning my own wedding (mj and ramil) ... we didn't have a "wedding planner" haha ... I don't know why you'll need one? err... kidding, you need one IF, you could trust them to do exactly what you wish... and I'm no easy client if that's the case, 'cuz I tend to expect too much and hate to be let down! Sooo, I pretty much did my own wedding, with a BIG help from my MOM who happily did things perfectly! She knows me too well to be mistaken, that's what mom's are for and the MOH is for! I did the research, the calls, the visits, even the souvenirs ... I did bows after bows of bronze and gold combination, our motif. BUT, it was all worth it ... we had a highly personalized touch of a wedding ... AND 'you know what? Our wedding album hasn't been printed yet ... but it will be next week! ^-^ because I just finished the words for it. I wanted a magazine type album that has our story, fave quotes and the lyrics to the song we danced to, letters to our parents ... uhmm.. poems ... even the layouting I had to guide the photographer! I'm obsessed! yikes. It just dawned on me now that I am obsessed! haha I also did the designs of the dresses and even my own gown! HOW OBSESSED I WAS! haha Now tell me I needed a wedding coordinator at that! ^-^ It was fun doing all those things, that after the wedding ... I just missed the crew I worked with, I even thought of putting up my own events coordinating business from all the people I know now, I could really do it! BUT, you know ... more than the skill learned, I was inspired by my own wedding ... I don't think I could really do it for others. It was out of love and inspiration that I was super woman, but if I do it commercially ... 'not so sure if I could...

Anyway, I'm saving the whole story for our anniversary! ... Yup, there's more! ^0^ ... and never going to get tired of it!

Lose it!

So how do I get back in shape and be able to wear 80% of what's in my closet?! grr... so frustrating that I have gone really generous on food! ... yeah, the BUTs of it being delicious, nutritious and just because it's there, looking all yummy and "yes, I can do exercise and diet tomorrow!" excuses ... Which tomorrow however, I don't know! ... Marriage is sooo good that I was too comfortable to notice my weight! haha until I realize that I'm now running out of "wardrobe" options while preparing for work everyday. My husband tells me to plan ahead so we wont be running late, but that's not even the point. The point is, I could plan my whole outfit for the week, but the bad news is ... will it fit me?! I can't stand the times when I couldn't squeeze myself into something that I thought looks good on me. grr.

oohh! That's why I'm planning to give all those clothes away so I could fill my closet with NEW clothes in my NEW size. Good or Bad? BAAAD. Because I'm not that rich to pack my whole closet with new stuff and I have some sort of "emotional" attachment to the clothes I love, which makes me really mad at myself for not being able to fit into it anymore! I grew 2 sizes bigger. That's why. grr...

BUT, I'm not at all hard on myself about food and eating and not being able to be a size 0 ever!!! It's just my old self that I want and it's not easy to lose all these pounds because the more you get heavier that more you get lazy to lift a muscle. It's aging actually, that's doing all these metabolism mess I have. When before, I could eat whatever, whenever I want and it magically disappears! But now that I'm nearing 30 and have to work it out really hard just to see a tiny bit of progress! grr..

'Hope I get the inspiration to really lose it! 'cuz right now I'm just too happy to bother!

win.win.win

Me too! I want to win something! My friend won a Police Limited Edition Watch just by being at the premiere of the Terminator Salvation movie. A simple question was asked and my friend got the answer right! Actually, he said NO ONE was raising a hand so he did! haha he's kinda generous like that, not wanting anyone to feel left-out or ignored, so when the host saw that his hand was the only one out there, he went to him and asked the question:

Host: "Besides the watch, what else is inside the box that would be given away?"

My friend: "A Police Bracelet?"

Host: "You got it!"

That easy! He got the answer right because it had already been mentioned earlier that evening! That prizes would be given away. 'Guess he was the only one listening. haha...aarrgghh... What a cool watch! Only 1000 pieces produced in the world and he got the 305th!!! So lucky.

Anyway, speaking of winning ... A Filipino won the Best Director at the Cannes Film Festival in France! Fantastic job! Congratulations Mr. Brilliante... that's Brilliant of you! Cannes is really something!

AND...The Lotto jackpot is already 163++ MILLION pesos! imagine that?! I dont have to work for the rest of my life!!! I gotta get a ticket tomorrow, hope no one wins tonight! haha ... greed.greed. I don't have any plans for a 163 million! So, I'm not sure if I'm ready to get all that money anyway! ... it's pretty scary to get BIG, EASY MONEY!

... I just wanna get a prize, I want some happy surprises! 'cuz lately, I don't get one... I hope I get to win something! like a car? or a lap dog ... I don't think they are given as prices... a dog? haha. But I want one, we want one ... yikes, building rules ... NO PETS ALLOWED, What kind of a place is this? NO PETS ALLOWED?! We gotta get a real house with a yard!!! ... now, I'm needing the easy money! haha ...

Well....hope you guys get lucky today! 'Hope there's always happiness amongst us everyday!!!

ciao.

of women, scandals and rights

This is not the media attention you want when you're a star and have a steady career going on in modeling and showbiz, neither while you're a private person and is pushed to fame for the wrong reasons.

Difficult times for these women, I wont name names anymore because they are already enduring the pain and shame of the scandals that they were in. You know how media could make or break you and how they're never sensitive about feelings and the real people behind those issues, all they stand for is the "juicy-ness" of the story, if it would sell or not. In fact, bad news is more of a good news to them! That's just the way it is and honestly, as a reader? I am for the controversy too while the news about the good and triumphs come second, say Feature Stories but not actually News.

Anyway, the story is about 3 videos that plagued the Internet for weeks now about a Cosmetic Surgeon that videotaped his "more-than-what-friends-do rendevous" with women from showbiz (a young sexy star, a print and TV ad model and a Brazilian model) without their knowledge. This already sounds criminal but since the law has yet to get updated by these type of violation involving videos and the internet, the only case that they could file is under the "Anti-violence against Women and their Children Act of 2004" quote:

"Sexual violence" refers to an act which is sexual in nature, committed against a woman or her child. It includes, but is not limited to:
rape, sexual harassment, acts of lasciviousness, treating a woman or her child as a sex object, making demeaning and sexually suggestive remarks, physically attacking the sexual parts of the victim’s body, forcing her/him to watch obscene publications and indecent shows or forcing the woman or her child to do indecent acts and/or make films thereof, forcing the wife and mistress/lover to live in the conjugal home or sleep together in the same room with the abuser;

However, out of shame and battered dignity two of these women wont show up. I bet they wont. The young sexy star is battling it out on her own, for she has appeared and filed cases already.

But what a mess!

Everyday on the news there is an update, like there are 11 more videos that'll surface and the other day, it's already 40 tapes! It's like an avalanche! Jeez! This guy is sick. To think that he doesn't look like it. He is young and good looking and rich with a brain to be a cosmetic surgeon. In fact, he's done liposuction among the rich and famous people and also building a career in modeling and showbiz himself, SO what is wrong with him? ...

hmmnn... well, my mind is telling me that there is NOTHING wrong with this guy. Seriously, there isn't, he will just use the alibi for being a "psychiatric case" to get away or get some sympathy or make an explanation for his behavior, BUT to me? haha ... what are you talking about? You are not sick my friend.

It's the bragging rights that you were after when you made these films and shared it with your frat mates! To have a line-up of beauty queens, startlets, singers, international models ... 'come on!!! Don't make fools out of us, 'cuz we know why.

I am just deeply sorry for those women, so sorry that it had happened. I just wish that there is a way that could undo everything. Nobody deserves to be treated like that, it's not just you and your trust that he violated, it's all womens' OR maybe it wasn't in his intention to share it to the public but it had leaked anyways ... so, you know, he still has to go by the law. So, I urge YOU to ... come out ... put covers on your faces or something, but do go out and file cases! The video will be out there your whole life, I tell you ... if YOUTUBE has deleted it, it'll come in many other forms! Like blog links, CDs, DVDs ... print ... anything! SO you better make a stand now and do something or regret that you let him get away with it.

Women. Know your rights and please be honest and true to your values.

Liza and the 50 year old woman who looks 18!

It's been a green day for us, as we celebrate our friend Liza's birthday. She turned 30! wahahaha ...*laughs* she can't believe she's 30! neither can we, she actually got held outside a casino one time for ID 'cuz she looks like 12! hahaha... that is outrageous! How come she gets all that ... "hey, you should get her a permit to work 'cuz she looks 15!" ... yeah right!!! grr... I'd like to look young too for my age, but heck ... I get like ... "you're 28, right?!" "...uhmm .. yeah" haha Well, whatever!

We wore her fave color GREEN, to work since it's also dress down Friday to surprise her and she liked it, giggled at how we looked so coordinated! We did the same for Ramil when we all wore RED ... So, it's kinda becoming a tradition! Anyway, Liza, is a nice person, she is the one I said about being like the Phoebe character in Friends. She says lots of funny stuff without realizing it, wears and says what she wants but one thing sets her apart from that character ... she's Phoebe meets Rebecca Bloomwood (the Shopaholic girl) who loves to shop for signature clothes and puts color into fashion? Yup. She's it! She may be like what she is towards shopping and spending her credit card away like it's nothing! But deep down inside she's a caring person, 'loves her family and friends, hard working and fun to be with.

SO, to celebrate her birthday, we all went to AMICI at the Megamall, for a superb Italian Cuisine! Yummy! I tell you, it's really one of the best Italian meals I had ... perfetto! Took lots of pictures and had Gelato (ice cream) for dessert! yum.... we were stuffed and laughing all the time not minding that the place was getting more and more crowded as the night falls. I've never been to Amici before but now I know why I should be there more often! Good food is hard to forget!

After Amici, we're ready to head home ... but passing by a Barbie Doll Exhibit in celebration of its 50th Birthday, made us drop by and took more pics ... it was all pink and fur and Barbie Doll Collections. I saw one Barbie that looks away ... a 1965 Barbie ... it has cat-like eyes that looks away unlike the Barbie we played with ... it's looking away! ( I just said that, right? it looks away!) How fun! Very nice collections, I'm glad they shared it 'cuz I wont be able to collect as many and as rare as what they have, 'minding the price tag! ... and besides, I don't have much room in the house for it ... as I was contemplating on starting my own collection! haha I had to stop myself and make reasons! It's beyond child's play really, to have one ... I'd be sooo sad to be a doll and NOT get played with ... or be even out of the box! But they were dolls made to be looked at, that's how they stay crisp, clean and shiny. There was this Barbie that looks like our Grandma's in the pictures of the 50's! With curly hair, tiny red pout lips and 1mm thin eyebrows ... cool! If I get one, I'd start my collection ... but if not, I wont. What's the use of collecting without the 1st editions?! haha Don't mind me, I'm just making reasons again.

Anyway, ciao for now. That's all I got! Funny, I thought I have something really long and cool, but now, words just wont tell about them all, 'cuz you know, they are memories kept to forever by the minute and words aren't that precise, we just get the closest detail and this is it for me about my Happy Day! =)

"have a good one!

I'm dropping skyscrapers to do make-up

Afterall, there are more people who can do buildings than making themselves look good... I mean look good with make-up! I've now reached a point in my life where I have developed wants, passions and hobbies. I think I could do it all, right? If I wanted to? ... That, I may be over with pursuing a career on something that I thought I love but now is just a job ... I now have it ... The climb is steady and its already here ... It's just up to my boss if he really wants to make me into something, because right now, I have been working so hard for 4 years, did the "bubbly-yeah-I-can-do-anything-you-practically-throw-at-me-stuff" that I'm now left exhausted and yes! I still wanted that promotion you gave away to someone who you think is better than me! ... really? Of course I'd disagree, but ...whatever, you know. I'm just easing up a bit more and once this global financial crisis is over, I'd be out the door the minute it happens! Husband in tow.

... but what I want to write about actually is having some goals after your goals.

I have listed 5 things that I want to continue doing and 5 things that I want to learn about.

Here's the 5 "I want to continue doing" list:

1. Do painting, sketching and crafts more.

2. Do go back into dancing and running.

3. Do continue my Italian language lessons!

4. Do go back into business. (used to run a food business and school supplies, NOW I want clothing and shoes)

5. Do go out more ... travel, swimming, picnic ... long walks and driving.

And here's my "I want to learn about" list:

1. Doing make-up professionally. I want to be a make-up artist.
I don't know anything yet about make-up but soon I will!!!

2. How to cook. I mean, really COOK!

3. Photography and Graphic Design.

4. YOGA!

5. Becoming a vegetarian!

Some are long term goals, but most are things I could do right away! I already feel better just by listing things down. Maybe because, it makes me realize that I have options or things for me beyond work and being a wife. It is never too late to be something or someone! You could be 60 and become an actress! ... I could still learn the guitar or become an astronaut! ... ok ... probably not an astronaut ... but who knows, I could be that too, so I wrote it down!!!

Anyway, have goals after goals and after goals. That is what life is all about. You only stop dreaming when you're on to sleep forever!!! So good luck and weave those dreams of yours, NOW!

me: a guide to consumerism

Family is super important to me that I got myself a new plan for a mobile network, besides the fact that I already have one and been using it since I was still in school and riding on my parents' bill. =) But now that I've been working and all, I still keep the old number and got a new one, so I'd never be out of reach!!! That is how I want my family to get to me ... be always on the other side of the line.

Viola this morning! no signal. You see, whenever I open a topic that way ... there is something wrong! haha ... I never get to open a topic and be all good... okay, that is not true! Well, what can be more interesting than writing a blog about being a vigilant customer who's not getting her money's worth! Everyone who is paying for a service deserves and should demand of no less than the BEST!

(Sales and Bargains included!)

However in this case, my mobile network wont allow me to call and text anyone! 'Getting myself another phone so they could reach me anytime gives me NO EXCUSE not to do it! So I bet they are expecting, my family and friends that's who ... dum-di-dum-di-dum-dum-dum ... nope! still no signal! Everyone who's using the same network has none... So, I'm not an isolated case. I'm calling customer service!

Anyway, here are the juicy parts of my Customers gone Mad post. (spotlight please!) So, here's a friend of mine who's husband is probably a jinxed customer ... he always gets an issue over food. One time, they bought popsicles. The popsicle comes from a famous and long-standing brand, that getting shreds of wooden popsicle stick embedded in your crunchy, chocolate popsicle is very surprising! ... and ... bewildering! Imagine getting splinters on your tongue! ... yikes! ... and some of his experiences would be: getting a roach inside a Coke bottle with cap still on and pebbles on his steak! Yeah pebbles. Well, we urged them to sue these companies but you know that the process is long and you need all these eye witnesses BUT it'd be worth millions! OH jeez! hehe ... yeah not that really! BUT it's all about getting safe products to use, especially for food to be safe and clean to consume!

Well, we are honest, paying customers here, our money comes from hard work and time away from our families, SO when we buy something, we need to be keen on quality. Most especially when the item does NOT come cheap or comes without warranty ... clothes doesn't come with warranty or shoes ... ??? I have none with warranty. So I check. check. check. Before paying ... so I don't have to go back and have a refund or exchange ... the hassle!

And lastly, it's best to shop with someone, who'll honestly give you their opinion. Remember! eyewitnesses! hehe

SO ciao for now. Happy shopping...AND don't get two plans on the same mobile network! 'cuz when they are busted, both of your phones wont work!!! grr...

PS.

listen to 'Much Has Been Said" by Bamboo, cool music

Dear Mr. Alec Baldwin,

Let me take a few minutes of your time as I may be interrupting your search for a Mail-Order-Bride (as NO WOMAN capable of real love will ever consider having a serious relationship with you.) Honestly, I'm getting tired of having to fend our country against racial discrimination. Sooo, please all of you who are racist, DO GET TIRED NOW and stop! We already have enough problems on this planet, it's not you who helps out anyway so it's better that you shut up and do some traveling, see the world beyond your bubble-wrapped environment and before you open your mouth, THINK: "What did you do in your life that's so great anyway?"

It's not just about the Filipinos or the Russians that he made fun about, this Alec Baldwin guy at the David Letterman Show, but also about women. We are not objects that whenever you want kids we'd make babies for you! ...

god! I'm so sick of these kind of people. As I said, tired of having to listen to these irrational comments ... how many people have gone by doing things like this? Making comments about Filipinos like they ever know one! Teri Hatcher? Chip Tsao? ... You know what? Our pride is so bruised now that any apologies will no longer do much repair ...

One of our Senators here (an action movie star) yeah, hehe. Even made a comment that if ever this Alec Baldwin guy sets foot in the country he'd be literally be beaten and he'll probably throw the first punch! haha ... well ... I wont stop him ... No one I know would stop him. I think comments like these are beyond DIPLOMATIC settlements. You say trash, you get trash.

So, goodluck in your life Mr. Baldwin. You have thousands of other countries to go to anyway.

Yours Sincerely,

me

just be worry free for a day!

Back from the not-responsible for any actions world!haha... that was sooo fun to be like kids again. When you don't have to worry about anything but the time when to get fed again and play! We spent Saturday and Sunday at a friend's vacation house in "Cavite" ... haha NOT in Laguna, we got confused with the location since the name of the place is also Sta. Rosa ... most popular in Laguna, but there is a Sta. Rosa in Cavite and that's where we stayed overnight for a "slumber party" ... only that, there were NO slumberi'n that took place! We climbed up to bed when there was already sun! Exhausted but happy from a karaoke marathon!

Though I was already slumping and sliding off my seat realizing that I'm not good as a night-person that I was before, I still knew I was having fun! haha... I couldn't keep my eyes open and when I get my consciousness back ... I'd start singing again! Funny what karaoke does, it makes me belt out songs that were all cheesy and wouldn't even find in my player but was karaoke worthy, and it's always those songs you know the lyrics to but don't know why you knew them, or how come you know them because you think they're not cool! hehe

Anyway, before spending the ... dawn away! We went to Paseo de Sta. Rosa in Laguna, you see? the Sta. Rosa place we thought we'd be was kinda near where we stayed minus the weekend traffic! It's a place of cozy Spanish Architecture, Live Music, Coffee and Outlet Stores ... and Outlet Stores! ... and Outlet Stores! haha It was love at first sight! ... We took fun photos amidst the curious faces of the passersby, because my friend Liza, is all out in posing for the camera, she's always been the fun and whatever-she-likes-to-wear or do or say person. Kinda like the Phoebe character in Friends. Then we had Frappucinos and chatted with another friend of ours who live 15 minutes away from Paseo. Lucky guy! No wonder he has all these cool, signature stuff, he's got access!haha ... oh he'd kill me when he finds out I said that! But he likes to shop for these fine things, which I ... find really hard to match! He's a good friend but when it comes to shopping, leave me outside 'cuz I'm not loving anything with a tag that's not loving me!

But this time, he didn't do shopping, in fact none of us shopped! 'Guess we had talked and laughed for too long that the stores started to closing and we're left standing right in the middle of the shops not knowing where to go next. Good thing there was a band playing, and we opted to watch and entertain ourselves with lively, dance music! There was a box of pizza that came by... too trivial to notice, if it wasn't huge as a table at 36 inches round! wow. Now, that's a party pizza! It wasn't even a pizza, it's PIZZA! My eyes followed it to the parking lot, thinking that it can feed me for a week if it's mine! Then went back to dancing.

We bid goodbye to our friend and "see ya on 'monday!" haha yeah, we see each other everyday at work and we're friends and one is my husband ... we are that in touch with each other that we still had to spend hours talking like we've never seen each other for a long time! *friends* it doesn't matter what day or time it is for a good company!

So we went back to the house, did the setting up of the Karaoke, plugged each cable right and then the singing began! ... until that first paragraph I wrote.

THE NEXT DAY. The sun was shining happily, the wind was cool and we all had a nice, little sleep. Breakfast was ready when we came down ... (ain't that grand?! ) hotdogs, dried squid, danggit (small dried fish), bread and fried rice. yum! The plan for the day was to go at a Theme Park. Remember? my Carousel ride?! and all those none life-threatening rides?! hehe ... We did all that at the Enchanted Kingdom, when we arrived at around 12 noon. The sun was "scorching" but we didn't care ... it's supposed to be that way when the fun is outdoors! So, better to have sunblock on! We rode the Ferris Wheel, which I haven't been on one since I was 7! Then the Log Jam, where we got a bit wet ... the drop was SICK!!! Then we had a few other rides including the taadaa! Carousel! ooohhhh... sooo friendly that ride! ... And to finish our day at the Enchanted, we rode the Rapids ... the river that gets violent every now and then with water falls here and there ... and you're all strapped to your seats and of course screaming with excitement for who's gonna get wet the most! haha ... my poor husband did! He was seated where the most turn went for the big splash! oh! he was drenched! haha ... haha... haha... Me too, I got the waterfall "pouring" down on me! We were all wet but one, she came prepared with all her outfits, including the one she'd wear after the drenching, but alas! she didn't got that wet! Unlike us, we got really soaked but had only shirts to change to ... and had to wear the pants and shorts we had on yesterday...sshh!

Then it was all of a sudden. NIGHT. Time really flies when you're having FUN.

FUN.FUN.FUN it was but have to go. It's really great to have a day out with no worries! To be like we were before bills and other grown up responsibilities! To unwind and take a moment to be happy with yourself and friends. To be sooo tired out of fun doing happy things and sleep soundly after! It's amazing to wake up and had that rest. Amazing to have seen a different and new place. It's good to be out there and see what the world is like while you were at work! haha...

...Thanks guys! Well 'Looking forward to the next getaway!

... and don't panic!

There were two loud blasts yesterday that made us panic, followed by another big blast about 10 minutes later. We all looked at each other in fright. My husband who's seated about 30 metres away from my desk came up to me as I was about to throw my deadline ridden computer out the window in panic and shock! ... Our bosses who were in a meeting with a guest from the US in the conference room all went out to see whether it is something to be alarmed about.

We work at the 25th flr of a 38 storey office building and a blast like that is not to be ignored, as we have already mastered to distinguish a sound whether it's coming from a firecracker or a sound as BIG and LOUD as what we've heard ... was definitely NOT a firecracker! Of course we panicked, of course thoughts of how are we going to run down the stairs all 25 storeys below and how I'm glad to have worn flats and how I thought I'd bring flats if I'm to wear heels! 'cuz you'll never know!... All those thoughts came to me instantly!

So what was it? Oh, just bombs.

Yes, bombs! A purposely detonated bomb across the street for a fire drill! *sigh of relief*. There was a fire drill across the street, coming from a mega-huge twin tower building that's got 12 elevators and has an office for a movie production ... uhmm... not that it's related, but you know, the firemen had to set up this huge test/drill for the occupants, similar to what they did here in our building last February, remember? my post about how we ended up at Starbucks.

*cough**cough* Anyway, it's a good thing that they do what they do, the firemen ... 'cuz we oftentimes just come and go in the office, not minding the height, the exit points, the dos and don'ts in times (that you don't wish for to ever happen! ) It's better that we know all these, to be aware and not panic like crazy! ... Panic? what'z that word? hehe ... I'm calm and sensible.

Well we got trapped for a few seconds in the elevator today, 'cuz there was a change of power ... apparently, there was a brownout... grr ... the lights went off, the elevator wont open and no buttons were working ... all 8 of us got trapped inside ... I shrieked! But it was a slow shriek... a shallow shriek like all girls do when surprised but I didn't go banging the doors, or pushing frantically on the Talk button for the security! We waited about 3 seconds before doing something and held out our cellphones for light. We waved at the camera, if ever it was working on brownouts! And then viola! we went 2 floors up and then down to our destination, the Ground.

Whew.

I'm no good being in a dark, tight place. Psychological. I don't have claustrophobia but somehow I developed a few signs right there! bad. very bad.

... It just feels so good to be on the ground and would suggest that when we transfer to a new building, we'd get a lower floor! Low like 2 storeys the max!

Anyway, all's well ... I'm fine ... I was a girl scout. I know not to panic. Lesson to those who work and live in a high rise building ... Know your exit points, have fire extinguishers, never panic and walk the stairs, never go down using the elevator during emergencies like fire and know the numbers to call for help.

Lastly, pray to God that no freak accidents would happen to you or your family. He's always the best protector. Have faith.

if you've been missing some stars...they landed here!

'Talk about my weekend, I thought I'd never be able to do my getaway plans in Laguna with friends because there was this memo of our BIG Boss, yeah! the main guy who owns the company I work for is coming over from Australia to see the projects that we were bidding on here in Makati City. darn! He was asking my team to report Saturday and Sunday.... huwhaaatt??? ...

These guys, don't they realize that there's a deadly flu virus going around countries? It's dangerous to be traveling. Thank God that the Philippines is still clear from the H1-N1 Virus (swine flu) and we do want to take precautions and keep the country infected free! Not that I'm thinking they have it! ...

You see, we had a guy here from Hong Kong a few days ago, he's an Aussie guy and was here on business, everyone were tied to their seats and doesn't want to make any close contact with him ... at all! haha ... Funny, when he asked for an aspirin the next day the paranoia was worse! We were looking into each others eyes in an "uh-oh!" way and was telling each other that if anyone of us survives, he/she should vow that our benefits and insurances would reach our families!haha ... The guy wasn't even aware he made our day!

hehe.

Anyway, my boss here gave me a go signal NOT TO REPORT on Saturday and Sunday! Isn't he cool?!!! Yeah, the coolest! haha ... If!!! I finish my task today... uhmm... isn't my task due until a few weeks more? 'cuz this is plenty! god! I have to finish or my friends will kill me!

.... hohummm... The STARS? what stars? ...

oh yeah! I almost forgot I have them in my topic! ack. They are right there in the title and I'm forgetting. duh. Well, they aren't the stars that you see twinkle at night and wish you could count! I'm talking about David Cook and David Archuleta who are doing a concert together this Saturday, May 16 at the Concert Grounds of SM Mall of Asia ... cool. I like them. We also have the Pussycat Dolls on June 11, same venue ... I'm watching out for Lady Gaga, if ever she makes a world tour soon, visit Manila 'cuz we love ya! Rihanna and Chris Brown were here last year together, what happened to his case by the way? ... it's been a hush.hush. now is it?

hmmn... that's about it for now! see ya later! take care.

danger.danger.

I started my day feeling oh so good about myself though my hair is still not cooperating, 'wonder what's wrong with it that it has gone frizzy! for 2 days now, I can't seem to manage it the way I want it to look ... you know, how it should go well with the full bangs! I ended up clipping it to the side which I hated 'cuz I wanna be cool with the bangs. Anyway! I have an appointment later with the hairstylist and get snips! Maybe it needs fresh ends... oohh this is not a world issue! The real issue here is that, I went to the office and usually the guard on duty at the lobby is very polite with me, he greets me everyday with "good morning ma'am!" and then I greet likewise. BUT today, you guessed it right! He didn't! was it a big deal? Well, if I say that he did greet those in business suits and corporate outfits whatever! I wouldn't be making an issue here ... so what was I wearing? Well, some cool stuff. Not a suit but I'm wearing an outfit that fits my job ... being cool and artsy! We have a uniform of a blue dress-shirt, jacket and slacks that we now just use whenever a client or an architect or a project manager visits. But usually we're in casuals. So anyway, hello mr. security! I just want my "good morning ma'am!"

OK, so now let's move over to a more serious topic here. A day ago, a young woman (apparently 20 something years old) was shot dead on the way to work, at a very busy road in broad daylight. The woman is apparently a CEO of a company that holds office ... well ... uhmm ... in our office building ... yeah, same lifts, same security, same lobby, same "road" we may be traveling on certain days together. creepy eh? Yes, very! Who would want a young woman dead?! It's a very disturbing picture I saw on TV, of her things sprawled by the police for investigation, that none of her things were missing ... it was of a red wallet, posh high heels, credit cards, cash ... this young woman, from the things retrieved could be someone rich and successful. So, who would want her seriously dead? ... very intriguing, but I don't want to meddle into those things, especially that she worked in my building. Let's just leave it to the investigators and pray that killings everywhere would stop... scary things... Have we got no value for lives anymore? Have we become mere species with no soul or conscience?

tsk.tsk. I have nothing more to say except ... have a heart everyone!

we can still do slumber parties!

Now where do I begin to start? ... There are days when you are filled with thoughts that it spill out easily and you go blogging happily... and then there are days when I find myself thinking so hard about what could be the highlight of my day ... uhmm ... gosh! I have absolutely no idea how my day went, it just went on by as I was working all day ... god! I need a life! ... OK, so do you consider a slumber party a life? ... not that I'm a teenager or going back to being one! But yes, we are having one!!! yahooo ... it's not really your idea of mature fun, but it will sort of give me and my husband a new "world", outside our boring routine of household chores and facebook. YES! we are going to spend a night out of town (in Laguna) where a friend of ours has built a new vacation house. Isn't she cool to have a grand vacation house? Laguna is known for those really lovely homes and so excited to see hers. I think It'd be awesome to just go out and be with friends! ... We also have on schedule a day at the "Enchanted Kingdom" ( a theme park!) haha ... as if slumber parties aren't "immature" enough, we are doing the carousel and mother goose lake ride ...

However you define "immature", it is just an absolute fun to be carefree and mingle with people. As me and my husband have already started to contemplate on getting fertility work-ups! whaaatttt??? we're just 4 months married and we think it could be too late for us to have a little one. Hmmnn... we must be nutz to think that children could make our marriage complete ... that's what you get for the boredom on a weekend! But of course, we snapped back into reality and think that we are fine and have to enjoy being together! Afterall, that is why we got married! To be with each other forever! Knowing that we are fun together ... it's just all these chores and boring responsibilities that made us lesser ... well ... fun! So now you see, how our parents must've gone through! It used to be fun, then the bills came, then the children came, then the mortgage came, then the what-not-fun came!

Soooo ... yeah!!!! we will have fun at this weekend slumber party!!! We will have fun at this Theme Park and ride those Carousels and don't bug me with the Roller Coaster 'cuz I've had enough of that! Enough was last year when I went to the US and "roller coastered" all of what Six Flags New England got!!! Crazy me! It makes me kick the sheets in bed with trauma! haha ...

'ciao for now! Looking forward to that.

will I ever?

'Just wondering whether I'd be able to appreciate sci-fi movies again, because I tried but really, I can't! I used to love it but now it somehow becomes ... laughable. What's wrong with me?! Movies are supposed to entertain and be fictional, it's supposed to have those "superhuman" elements that's why "effects" are expected at some point to heighten viewers reaction! ... but what's wrong with me?! haha I don't get the same reaction and excitement anymore as action/sci-fi movies have become more and more dependent on computer generated objects or scenes. I'm now also becoming very critical about how actors portray their roles, I sometimes become unconvinced that they are actually the persons played in the movie. hmmnn... this is bad, the silverscreen have lost its touch on me! More like a child losing hope in fairytales and Santa Claus! But do I really wanna get it back? ... uhmm ... well, probably not. I'll leave those kind of movies to the ones who believe them and are entertained by them, if Star Wars and Star Trek still fascinates them, I have nothing against it! In fact, "good for you, your imagination still works!", because mine needs tweaking!

But have I told you that if I'm not a believer on the computer generated scenes in a movie, I tend to enjoy a full-length computer generated movie instead?! Yeah, those funny-looking creatures and kid stuff! Tell me, there is something wrong here!!! Nemo, Monster Inc., Bug's Life ... those sort of things? I loove them. hmnn ... well, yeah I wish I could love Fast and Furious as much as when it first made the screen, I wish I could love Wolverine fully ... because I "was" a comic book fan and was glad at how the movie turned out, but still ... I went home feeling ... just normal ... without after thoughts. Not like the Kung-fu Panda that we enjoyed the lines and used them to make funny comments! ...

OK, so my preference has turned upside down - inside out. That I'd rather watch a full scale computer generated movie than to have it in between scenes, which makes me sigh and say: "I wish there'll be just more "human" stories. More about people, emotions, laughter, love ... even war movies without too much "effect" is good! Now, I'll be watching out for more Meg Ryan movies, or Hugh Grant and my personal love for Kate Hudson, who stars in movies that makes my heart happy! No wonder why I also like French films though I have to be very fast in reading the subtitles! Because they mostly tell about human experiences and the actors look the part, they aren't as glossy as the hollywood stars that when they make films the character don't get mixed up by their image.

Anyway, this doesn't mean I'll stop becoming a fan of Hollywood or showbiz, it's not their fault, it's mine ... 'sounding like a break up for no real reason but just falling out of love. Maybe it's also about me "aging" that I lost my enthusiasm for "make-believe" things. That as we grow older, our ability to be patient is shortened by always wanting the facts right away! That our ability to trust in our dreams is lessened by our ambitious wants.

And for that I feel ashmed for having lost the magic.

Dear Mom

I always wish I were a better daughter 'cuz my mom deserves her (the better daughter!). Though she never pushes us to be persons beyond comfort, my siblings and I know that she wanted us to be the best that we can be. For she is never wrong about this world, she is never wrong in telling us when to hold on to a dream, when to never lose faith and even when to stop and admit our mistakes. She knows all that, she's a mom! She's always there for us, I cannot remember a time when I needed her and she wasn't there! No matter how far the distance of me being here in the BIG city and she, being in the province. She will always be there for me.

And now that I'm already grown and married, I appreciate her more ... how her being strong and independent helped me to become who I am, to be like her. That women should not make her gender a barrier in pursuing her dreams and getting what she deserves. That's why I went to a University and finished my Architecture degree because I know that neither Architecture nor Engineering nor Construction is a feat a woman can't conquer. It is a fact though, that there are industries where women are still aren't expected to be at par with men, as well as the fact that women cannot go "bonding" with the men like men do after work. So, in between these "bonding" times, women have to work harder for her skills to be extraordinarily impressive, so that her work will speak for itself.

Well anyway, this is about my mom and all moms, before I find myself navigating towards other topics! haha ... I just love her and no matter how I tried when I was younger to be "rebellious", wanting to be my own person, I just find myself becoming more and more like her while growing up. That I'd recognize my reaction towards something being from my mom! ... and then I smile, I realize that mother's have the biggest influence in a person's life. No matter how old, far and stubborn a child may be.

YES! moms are wonders to be a perfect mix of strength and compassion. How she's able to raise us with our dad is amazing! Well...all good parents are amazing!

I love my mom with all my heart and if that has been said before I have no better way to say it.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

charity that backfires

It's two hours prior to the kiddie party! yay! kiddie party? ... YES! we don't have kids yet but we love kids so I guess that's enough right to be invited to a kiddie party! ... We're already armed with the Barney Videos the 2-year old will be receiving as a present. Wait! yes, I said we will buy Dora, the explorer but then we saw this really fun Barney Video which is a set of 3, so we bought that, plus we added 1 Dora DVD just in case she gets bored of the singing purple dinosaur or when she gets Barney overload! ...'happened to me while I had to babysit my niece and all we watched was Barney. I started singing his song and went over and over, that my husband had to tell me to stop because he too had been singing it the whole day or whenever, wherever. yikes! Anyway, if we had been letting our kids watch this, might as well know the effects.

WHAT this blog is doing to me is to live life per minute as it happens, noting the interesting things that occur and hoping that my mind would be able to keep it and translate it into words ... or my fingers to be fast enough to catch up with these thoughts! (I didn't do typing lessons, so my fingers go criss-crossing and makes loud unsynchronized sound on the keys whenever I type!) hehe. Well, a day is a day and never will it be the same the next time you wake up and live it. So better yet be loud on the keyboard than to let these musings of mine float in the air, never to be seen and read. ever!

SO! what I've been up to now is to unclutter our apartment with things that I never and rarely use anymore. My mom tells me that if you haven't used something for at least two years, it is NOT considered yours anymore but owes it to charity...

That! I'll do, I have to put loads of clothes that I have'nt seen for a long time that's tucked at the far ends of my closet in a box. They are still pretty good clothes, I'm even thinking of setting up a garage sale and make money out of it, but then ... why not consider charity? afterall, I haven't been randomly generous lately. A box or two of these good clothes to people who'd need them, will even do me a favor, ' coz I'll have more room in my closet and it'd be such a relief to my husband who's giving me the look whenever I'm folding clothes after laundry!

Besides clothes, I'll also have to sort out shoes and bags. This idea is making my husband happy, but he is also thinking that I'm clearing away my closet and the shoe rack for ... taadaaa! shopping?! ... hah! of course not! ... he's just underestimating my drive to be charitable without something in return. I will not do any shopping for the ... time being... I will enjoy seeing my closet breathing and the room to be almost new and wider. The real point here is, do unclutter your house for things you can do without and might be of use to others. Actually our problem with space is not having ENOUGH space for our things, but for having TOO MANY things beyond our apartment can handle! Imagine us, considering to move because of the things we received as gifts for the wedding and we still have more left at my parent's house..arrgh.. maybe we have to move as I remembered!

BUT still, we can do charity even if we did not intend to. Actually, I consider random generosity as I call it, the most pure and sincere act of giving. That is why we need not go buy NEW things for others in need, we may have something that's sitting unused for years and that is just a SIN to be keeping it from people who'd put it to good use.

So, definitely that is the plan. Unclutter and be randomly generous and will not take money for my used things.

Here comes Santa in May!

Today I have a mission to buy the coolest gifts for a 2 year old birthday girl, Nikka and a 30 year old, single and "hot" lady, Liza. haha... she likes that! Anyway, I was thinking of giving a Dora, the explorer DVD to the little girl, because she loves to watch these interactive kid shows ... I do watch them too, it's colorful and I love answering to them because I know all the answers! haha ... To my friend Liza, she'll probably get a book because she haven't read the Shopaholic and Sister by Sophie Kinsella yet! 'Love her or hate her but she's out there and I do find her writing entertaining though sometimes the heroine gets a little to whiny, yeah like whining all the time which I think is ... very, very me and of course if there is another me and she's writing about her, we could be thousands of readers in the world thinking that the book is about her... well ... uhmm... ok just don't mind that!

But I'm going to give her the book because it has no pressure on the head, like you don't have to be all poetic or imaginative and ... investigative to be able to understand the characters and the scenarios, because believe me! in our line of work, the last thing you want in a book is the one that'll give you complexities and mind boggling endings... or tragedy, the worst of all!

So, it's light, romantic, drama that I'll give her since she is sort of a "hopeless romantic" and member of the N.B.S.B, as she calls it ... N.B.S.B (No Boyfriend Since Birth) that is. haha... oh she laughs about it like it doesn't matter but actually she does mind that Mr. Right isn't here yet to sweep her off her feet ... maybe here but we're not sure who among here?! ... Anyway, she's had some guys wanting to go out with her, there was this Croatian guy, an Italian guy ... yeah, she traveled with me once and boy! was she hot among the guys of the foreign land!!! haha ... but well ... she's not entertaining them, I think she still prefers a Filipino guy, though nothing's wrong with being with someone not Filipino, I think it's more of a cultural thing ... it's probably difficult to relate with someone who's raised in a different environment, culture, values and "language" ... it does work for others but you know, it's hers and as long as she's happy, foreign or not, we're here for her!

Anyway, I have to go work now and help out the economy! haha... ciao for now, I'll tell you later about the gifts I bought... Ooohhh! by the way though, another friend has celebrated her birthday and my present was a limited edition magazine about her favorite movie star, (you know that one who secretly got married! haha) well, it's a magazine about her, absolutely all about her! That she shrieked in excitement when she saw it on top of her desk along with a mug and some of my favorite Forest Fruit Tea, that I'd like her to try ... 'cuz she will love the flavour! ...and I wrote: Enjoy the mag. and the mug!

I love all my friends. Especially the birthday girls!

So really, this is ciao!

Don't stalk me, I'm not celebrity.

Great! I had been out for a while but now I'm back with a vengeance!harhar....well, I was caught up with work and nothing excites me other than that! (oh really?) naahh! It's just getting worse everyday that my numbers wont sum up properly! well, whatever!

Anyway, ever had or have a person in your life that creeps you out? ... but it's a creepy person that you can't just ignore or push away like you can avoid someone you see and talk to everyday because you have to be nice and give all that cheesy comments like "oh! how cute!" "how nice you got a new ...blah...blah" ... because you're just waiting for the right moment when you can actually just move on with your lives as "unique" individuals! Yeah, she creeps me out like having the same stuff that I have, hairstyle and what's major is she's sort-of patterning after my lifestyle ... uhmm... am just being neurotic here? or it's really happening?! Anyway, the bag! was the bottomline! If she hadn't bought the same brand, same style and same color and showed it to me! and I was like ... "oh! what a nice bag, I have the same one right here, see?!" and then I turned on my heel muttering "you bitch!" under my breath! (god! so sorry I had to) I would've forgiven her for everything that she thinks is all hers if it wasn't for the stupid bag!

Well, I'm not at all changing even if we have things in "common" though I'm struggling to keep my patience and tell myself that it's actually a flattery to be imitated, I'm sort of wondering what should I do whenever I have something and she always turns up with a story of the same thing and like even better! always! always! ... and did I just said always?!

Like I don't have any right to be better than her and her ideas and things which I never have to compare against her because I'm trying sooo hard to stay clear of her ... uhmm... ideas? style? choices? well, those!

hmnn... BUT! ya know what? hehe I'm not mad .. I just sound like it! ... I'm just baffled ... that now I try to relate so many things about her and me, ooh! we could be friends actually! haha for liking things together ... I'm just wondering if she ever really like the things that she bought or just to show me or ... well, we went shopping together one time and ... she bought everything I said was nice though there was a time in between our shopping that I tried to see if my wonderings are all real (or I was just making it all up in my head!) I gave her stupid choices and the poor thing just clutched everything I chose heading for the register ... but then I stopped her ... "you really don't need those huge pink plastic earrings ... cuz uhmm .... they are not in season!" she bought none of the stupid choices I made, don't worry...it was just a test. Like some Jedi master I am. The point is, whenever I go back to that ... moment? event? whatever, I just feel for her, like I'm not supposed to be mean at her, she could have some issues with herself which I should understand 'cuz the TEST somehow proved it. But then again, what will I do if she turns up everytime with things and stuff that I have, or even making decisions in her life that is necessary for me, but not for her! ... ever wonder what "patterned" lifestyle I mean? or "decisions in life" I mean? ... well, let's say I had a "birthday" party which I celebrated with hugeness! Like it was an event of the year for my friends, and her ... her birthday was like 6 mos. ago, what she did was to come up with a post birthday party, hugest and grandest than mine if possible! ...and she'll be wearing the same color of the gown I wore ... that is so sad to realize. But still I'm helping her out with planning and I give her tips (not stupid tips, dont worry!)hehe ... it's going to be expensive I bet, more expensive than mine! hmmphh ... if only she realize that she could do her birthday at least next year, so it wont be obvious!!!

oh well, things happen for a reason, maybe I've got a purpose with her... maybe I'm her ... what? I don't know what to do with her so I let her be.

HELP.

hugest boxing fan is me

What a good morning! Now I'm convinced, he really is the best! Incase you're not a boxing fan like me and my husband are, in fact our whole country are ... we're talking about Manny Pacquiao who has won on the ring about an hour ago against Ricky Hatton of Britain. Oh we were sooo anxious about his fight ever since contracts were signed between the parties for this fight to happen... and now! it's all done, Manny won in just 2 rounds with a knock-out! ... the first few seconds of Hatton on the canvass made us cringe ... he was not moving, only breathing so heavily ... god! we thought he's gonna ... you know ... die?! and made us feel really guilty Manny was sooo good at boxing that he had stopped the man who fought him like a brawler. Now you see? all the trash-talking by Hatton's trainor Mayweather Sr. didn't waived Manny's confidence. I think it's really not good for trainors or athletes to bash at each other like unprofessionals... good thing that Hatton and Manny are both respectful of each other's skills that they didn't do any trash-talks.

Anyway, Manny always starts his fight with kneeling on his corner and praying, he trains well, observes dicipline so with all these it's not hard to believe he'll be a champion. He has taken down the best of the best in boxing, I was a huge fan of Antonio Barrera and Oscar dela Hoya before Manny came in to the boxing limelight.

Well... by now, as he defeated Ricky Hatton, he's now the best pound for pound boxer in the world!!!

PS. 'gotta find that limited edition/collector's item Nike shoes made for Pacquiao!

back from outer space!

Rodel my officemate and me at Khao Pad
Thai Cuisine at Khao Pad, Ortigas Center
Halo-Halo, Razon's of Guagua

ok so where was I? Oh! I have been all over ... like work on the weekend, shopping at the grandest sale ever!!!, ate at a fantastic Thai resto ... and uh... did I just say work on the weekend? ... like I mean earlier today?! haha... yes, if that was confusing, it was actually earlier today that I had been to work... you see the craziness of my schedule? I was blobbering about my day being sooo idle and now here! I had to work for the weekend to get a job done by Monday ... well, no worries! 'cuz I was on my way to the sale anyway! Yeah, 3 days and midnights of sale galore! Of things I need ( I never admit to my husband that I just bought some things that came to mind when I saw them!) Well, who knows when I'll need a pack of beads!!! ... they're all so pretty that I plan to ship it to my sister anyway... so there! I had fun at the sale though we couldn't really stay until midnight 'cuz there were too many people, traffic was bad ...so we're trying to avoid the already worsening rush!

Today... I also had the yummiest Thai food in Manila! Wow, so yummy that I want to take my husband there too! When I told him all about it, I showed him pictures that looked sooo mouthwatering he was convinced that we had to go there one of these days! yum....

Well...I wound up at that place when our boss took us there for lunch today... The place is called Khao Pad ... an authentic Thai Cuisine place. Good thing that we know a bit of Thai, though the boss is the one who's so fluent at it that the owner tried to converse with us and we were there dumbfounded! haha ... I should've known! Never start a conversation in a language that you know too little about 'cuz the conversation will get going without you! haha ... anyway, we've resolved that, my boss just said in Thai "they don't speak Thai very well, but they've been to Thailand in Chonburi"... then smiles. smiles.

I have been to Thailand thrice and it's always closest to my heart. Though I didn't like the food they were serving in the office canteen when I was there but at the resto ... YUMMY! Almost everything is spicy but you can also request it to be a little less spicy ... though it's a challenge to do so ... they don't speak English very well, so 'better be ready with your grandest miming expressions ever! You'll need it!

But here, in Khao Pad... The spices were a bit tamed but I still had bitten into raw red chili on a fried rice, still ... i went on eating like there's no tomorrow!!! It was just delicious as I describe it. Anyway, if ever you come to Manila and want to eat Thai food ... err... why would you do that anyway? why not go to Thailand and eat Thai food? ...haha ... it's at the Ortigas Center ... place with lots of resto and bars, and funky shops. Very nice place... I even felt like a tourist in my own country! weird that I was taking lots of photos, as if the place is not a few meters away from my office building! ... It's very cool to be there ... so we had to stay a few minutes more before going back to work and had dessert at the Razon's of Guagua ... they serve this Halo-Halo, that's unique to the Halo-Halo (hah-lo - hah-lo) I'm used to with lots of beans and colorful jellies! This one, is served with only white and yellow colored fruits and stuff I dont recognize 'cuz they lose their form when you mesh them into your glass...i tasted crushed ice (the softest I've had so far), milk, banana and young coconut ... the other fruits, I do not know ... cuz again they were all meshed in my glass! You can actually feed me anything that has ice and meshed and I'd eat it!!! haha ... oh! not to forget the Leche Flan on top.... god! heaven!

So, nice day huh? yeah, pretty! ... Next week, I'll be joining my husband who's just gotten into Airsoft ... yeah, I'll be gaming too!!! Me and my hubby are newbies so pray we don't get hit too many times 'cuz were paying the game hours fair and square!!!

'till then! ciao!

P.S.

Thanks Carmela, of Khao Pad for the corrections... appreciate it!
