Bedroom Beginnings

Bedroom Project (we want one too!), by Jen Soliman

The mid-year month is officially over and so does the Santa Cruzan and the Flores de Mayo Festivals. So sad that I wasn't able to participate! (haha) well, I'm no longer asked to, ' cuz usually it's for the single ladies and for the ... ehermm ... prettiest lass in town. Which I'm no longer entitled to ...ey! just on the SINGLE ladies part otherwise we can still rock those! haha

Anyway, I haven't gone for work today, I have an appointment with my OB this afternoon, (nope not preggy yet, just a routine check-up) and if you wondered where I was yesterday that I haven't posted anything, we had workmen over our apartment for window works. I don't know why we needed NEW windows, it's not broken, it's fairly new since our building is just 5 years old but the owner wanted it changed ... so ... they did. There was hammering, drilling and welding everywhere that I wasn't going around much but stayed in one corner and watched TV... Then it rained, hard. Super hard, that the thunder would vibrate on our walls. That's weird, we haven't got that since the windows had been changed. We have huge windows now, with lots of light coming in the bedroom. aarrgghh... that is one huge problem we have in this room, that sunlight would flood the room in the morning, hurting our eyes. Trouble is, we can't put up heavy and dark window treatment since our room is not yet airconditioned, it gets pretty hot in this country! ... (planning to, don't worry... we know were the only ones who haven't got one ...well, we hardly had anything, we just got married!!!) So right now as I am writing this... I could really use a wide rim shades, that's how bad it is! Because you know how it is after the rain, it suddenly becomes bright. hhmmnn... we'll do something about it soon!... and I've been looking around for what to do with it.

I'd like to take inspiration from an interior designer, whose works I like, Jennifer Soliman because she uses rich and fab colors, I want my house-to-be like a house, I used to love all those minimalist designs but now as we wanted to raise a family someday, you know you can't have those really cool stainless steel objects lying around or the pointy edges of a minimalist though yeah, I'm sure a good interior designer could make a minimalist design work for a family, but now for me, I'm just into bold colors, warmth and cozy things.

As for now, I'm keeping a mental list of the things and colors that may inspire me to do our bedroom, 'cuz if you could see it now, it's just a plain, very light blue room, with 2 huge white iron framed windows, closet and a bed. That's it. No lamps, no bedside tables, no dressers ... just bed and the light blue room!

Let's see where this "tiny" bedroom design project of mine goes and ... YOU can check this out, it's really cool ... here's how to determine your style by IKEA. try it! try it!

Hi Sassie
Just poppedover to thank you for signing up as a follower to my sometimes funny, sometimes sad blog. As a reward there is a plate of fish and chips for you and your new hubby to enjoy. I am officially on a break from blogging but have broken my self imposed exile to personnaly introduce myself. My friend Breeze came second in my grand national race of bloggers a few weeks ago. There were many bloggy names running and as usual I did not behave myself!!
I am sorry the bedroom is too bright now with the new windows. You'll have to wear an eye mask!
Nice to meet you and if your new husband does not mind I will sigh up as your follower too. I might have to close my eyes sometimes with all the girl talk and everything - no doubt Breeze has explained I create a few laughs on ocassion.
I have a few followers who just look at me from their little boxes and stare - do not feel shy to give me a little wave and a "Hi" sometimes.
Hope to be back 'big time' in blogging again soon ~ Eddie
PS Oh as well as being an ambulance man I sell some double glazing.
